So what does a social brand need to be successful?
- Relevance – it should be designed for a target audience
- Consistency – it must build trust
- Credibility – it must deliver on the promises that are made
- Inspire – it has to connect with people on an emotional level
- Unique – it has to set itself apart from the competitors.
Just having a LinkedIn Profile does not enhance your company’s brand. It takes strategy. Furthermore, companies must consider its ‘Talent Brand’ which is equally as important as the brand itself. ‘Talent Brand” is the highly social, totally public version of your employer brand that incorporates what your talent – past, present and potential – thinks, feels, and shares about your company as a place to work.
People talking about your company is free marketing, which is always a good thing! And when it comes down to it, it’s really Public Relations that achieves this for a brand. Developing messaging that is relevant, consistent, credible, inspirational and unique is what Public Relations Professionals do on a daily basis through traditional and social media.
So, ask yourself. WHAT are people saying about your brand, company or employer? If it’s not much, it’s time to consider a PR agency.
