New Austin Office: Still At The Center Of It All
The Austin LPP team has spent the past 5 years in the Bank of America Building at 6th and Congress, which is arguably the center of downtown Austin. We were a few blocks from the Texas Capitol, the infamous East 6th street party zone, and the new entertainment districts that have cropped over the past 8 or so years. We took full advantage of the location and our clients enjoyed it, as well.
Last week, we moved into new office space in the GSD&M building at the corner of West 6th Street and Lamar, which honestly would have to be a close second to the "center of downtown," if not tied for the title. We are a few minutes from Lady Bird Lake Hike and Bike trail (Town Lake for those who just can't deal with the name change) and we are surrounded by shops and restaurants. We are across the street from Whole Foods' World Headquarters, which I have been to at least five times in the past week and should be on everyone's Austin trip short list. I know, a grocery store doesn't sound like a tourist destination, but this one is, I'll leave it that.
We are also neighboring well-known shops such as By George, Waterloo Records and REI, making shopping after work a bit too tempting. And I've already heard two live bands within a two-block radius and we've only been here for a week (one was in our building, actually). It's a hip area, which is great for our staff, who often have a better pulse on the cool factor than I do.
This PR agency is happy to be downtown in the city that just won't stop growing, despite the Great Recession. A new move always brings new energy and it's nice to see employees and clients enjoying our new environment.
Let us know if you're nearby and maybe we can meet at our local grocery store or catch a live band at Waterloo - After discussing a strategic communications plan, of course!
