Dear Santa,
All I want for Christmas is a few easy items to throw in your bag:
Single-sign on for all applications -- so I don't have to constantly go through several levels of security to look up my passwords that are hidden in well guarded files on well-secured devices. I'll settle for biometrics that really work. Anything that minimizes all the steps required to just get through the day, get real work done and live our lives.
True connectivity everywhere -- and not with scary warnings that if I take advantage of the hot spot at the airport, I'll be letting the cyber wolves in the door to learn all of my personal data and my company's secrets. And not with a million steps, passwords (please see above) and ridiculous fees. I don't want to know how it works. I just want it to work so I can take care of things quickly and not risk missing flights while I try to log in.
Standards for device chargers -- really, Santa, can't they just all learn to get along and allow us to carry one device to charge all of the equipment we need to carry these days? Even devices from the same company (no names, of course, but it rhymes with Scrapple) require different chargers for different devices in its family of gadgets.
I could go on and on, but I know you're busy this month and I don't want to monopolize your time. If you can fix these tiny little problems, I know I'll be a much better person in 2012. I'll even forgive you for not bringing the Barbie doll I asked for many years ago. I'm pretty sure my Mom had something to do with that one coming off the list.
Thank you!
Lois
