SNW to Offer Free Access to Press Room, Embrace Social Media, MORE!

SNW Santa Clara
Next week marks the annual Spring pilgrimage for many to Storage Networking World, best known as SNW.  This Spring, the conference comes to the Santa Clara Convention Center in California.  This is a first as SNW hasn't been in California for as long as I can remember, if ever.  And what sets this conference apart from the past is that now the media room will be available to everyone!  No longer will those who have no passes have to worry about dodging beefy security guards, or face expulsion.

In another bold move, rumors are swirling that SNW coordinators are making the social media room available to anyone who likes to blog, tweet and record podcasts or Vlogs.  And, there are already rumored to be at least 10 Tweetups happening on each day of the conference.  These unprecedented embraces of social media build on the conference coordinators' work over the past few conferences where more bloggers and podcasters have been in attendance than media.

Personally, this is all awesome.  And, one more reason why I'm looking forward to attending next week's conference.

In another rumored move, profiles and interviews with all end-users in attendance will be posted at the close of each day, showcasing how this conference has now become THE destination for end-users.  No longer will those in attendance have to wonder if time was well spent on lead-gen activities and if the customers in attendance were serious about discussing technology solutions from the more than 50+ companies buying booth space and paying sponsorship fees.  And, no longer will anyone have to wonder if you need a hand counter to see how many end-users might be there.

Lastly, and in perhaps the boldest move, there are rumors that the Q2 2011 Storage Analyst Magic Quadrangle will be unveiled during the conference, in an update from the Q1 rolled out earlier in the year.

Too good to be true?  Or is it April Fool's?
