Count It. Twitter Makes Analytics Available to a Select Few, Hopefully All.

I am like many others who didn’t realize “tweet” wasn’t already an official word up until yesterday when the good people at The Oxford English Dictionary quietly announced that it had added it as both a noun and a verb – along with other new words such as “big data” and “crowdsourcing.” What I have known for a long time is that Twitter has never made performance analytics available to users. Those of us who manage personal and corporate accounts...

The How, Who and When of Social Engagement

My colleague Don Jennings shared an interesting post written by Daniel Kraft of NewsGator, that lists & Habits of Highly Effective Social Leaders. The “grabber” sentence is the following: “Leaders that ignore the Social Business Revolution will be replaced. If you don’t buy into it, your competitors will – they’ll take your job, your company, and your place in history.” That, combined with some McKinsey data about the potential margin improvement that social engagement delivers, sets up the reader for...

Ringin’ Bells: From Carbon Capture to the Cloud

This week, several LPPers (myself included) from both Boston and Austin attended the Publicity Club of New England’s annual Bell Ringer awards. IDG announced in an email to subscribers on Thursday, June 6 that the June 3 print issue would be the publication’s last. With Network World’s move to a digital only...

#BostonPRoud event - community for a cause

The Boston PRoud event was held at various locations on Boylston Street here in Boston last night. The PR community came out in droves to raise money and support the city and victims of the tragedy that unfolded on Marathon Monday earlier this year. The energy, enthusiasm and overall commitment to a greater cause brought a group of professionals together to support a worthy cause. Early estimates show the event collecting over $65,000 all of which is being donated to...
